Forwarding Line
A forwarding line is a phone line that has been configured to forward incoming calls to another phone number.
The caller pays only for the cost of calling the forwarding number. The owner of the forwarding line pays for the cost of forwarding the call to the destination.
In our testing, calls made through the forwarding lines connected at the same speed as calls placed directly to the modem pool. We have heard though, from people using other services, that this is not always the case.
You may wish to test the connection using your own equipment. Place a call, using the forwarding number, and observe the connection speed reported by your modem. Do the same again, using the direct line to the modems (510) 889-5211. If there is a substantial difference you may not wish to use the forwarding line.
